I wanted to take the time to give y'all some insight on who I am and what I'll be bringing to the table in this blog. In order to do that, I'm going to explain to y'all who I am. I like to describe myself as a heterosexual, cisgender, Christian, feminist, black girl. Although, most of what I just listed may be considered labels, those are the things that make me who I am. It's vital that I mention them because I want y'all to know what perspective I'm coming from. I try to be as open-minded as I can be before discussing topics and I hope y'all can do the same while reading my content.
I consider myself to be an introvert and am extremely shy and awkward. Not everyone gets to see my personality because I'm so guarded. Once I do get comfortable, my personality is completely opposite from what people may expect. Some of my friends have a hard time believing that I'm shy because I'm so lively when I'm around them. They're used to seeing me lip-sync to Beyonce while attempting to create my own choreo. At this point, most of my friends are used to me and they know I have a lot of energy and zest.
Now for a little backstory of where I come from. I was born and raised in north of Atlanta, Georgia in a town called Tucker. I grew up in a nice suburban neighborhood with my mother and older sister, Raelynn. My parents divorced before I turned one and at the age of 8, my mother remarried and has been since then. As I mentioned previously, I'm a Christian and basically grew up in the church. God is the most important person in my life because that's what I grew up on. One could say I had a pretty easygoing childhood. My parents always made sure I was provided for and still do.
Today I'm in college, attending Georgia State University. In the fall of 2018, I will be graduating with a major in Journalism and a minor in Women's Studies. My ultimate goal after graduation is to pursue my acting career. Acting is something I've been interested in since I was a child. Along with acting, I'll be owning my own clothing line, and of course, writing. I hope that y'all are excited and willing to ride along as I embark on my next journey.
