#WineDownWednesday: Malbec

This week for #WineDownWednesday I'm going to highlight a red wine, Malbec. Malbec is most likely not everyone's first choice because it's usually overshadowed by the popular Cabernet Sauvignon. Although it may not be as rich, Malbec holds fruity flavors of blueberries, raspberries, and cherries. Because of that, this dry wine is pair excellently with savory red meat dishes.

5 Fun Facts About Malbec:

1. Malbec is produced by dark purple grapes.

2. Malbec was born in France but is now produced mostly in Argentina.

3. It is best paired with smoky flavored spices.

4. Malbec can be enjoyed with an array of spicy dishes such as Mexican, Indian, and Cajun foods.

5. This dark-colored wine has a medium level of acidity and a high level of alcohol.
