Fall is here which means pumpkin-spiced everything. To join in on the festivities, I decided to make this week's #WineDownWednesday pumpkin-spiced apple cider. Cider is a popular drink around this time of year because of its warmth and spicey flavor. Here is the best pumpkin-spiced apple cider recipe to try throughout the fall.

Pumpkin-Spiced Apple Cider Recipe
Ingredients:
30 oz can canned pumpkin puree
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
2 tablespoons grated fresh ginger
1 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon orange zest
3 3/4 cup fresh apple juice or cider
1 cup spiced rum
Directions:
Combine pumpkin puree, cloves, cinnamon, nutmeg, ground ginger, sugar and orange zest in a saucepan. Heat mixture on low for 30 minutes.
Strain the pumpkin puree mixture through a fine-mesh sieve to remove pulp and other particles.
Return the smooth, strained pumpkin puree mixture to a clean saucepan. Add the 3 3/4 cups apple cider and 1 cup of rum.
Warm gently over low heat.
Garnish each mug of cider with a cinnamon stick and apple cube.
